Dyeing and Printing is by far the most widely used and appreciated technique for surface ornamentation or fabric finishing. They are methods of application of colour to the raw textile.

Where on one hand dyeing applies colour by impregnating it into the fibre's molecular structure, printing applies colour in design form superficially on the surface of the fabric. Dyeing is done by immersing the fibre/ yarn / fabric in the colour dye bath and printing is done by application of teh colour paste in the design form on the surface of the fabric.
